As an instructional designer at University of Texas Health Science Center’s School of Biomedical Informatics, I spearheaded design in a federally-funded grant to train 1,000 health professionals in an online learning environment.
For this grant, I connected with Subject Matter Experts in 5 informatics departments across the country.
In addition to the graphics, multimedia and content structure, I designed the system around the course. With a team of two Graduate Assistants and a newly hired Instructional Designer, I set up a program going from initial marketing and registration through to credentialing of professional development certificates and surveying learners for areas of improvement.
This course was also created with government accessibility standards set by the Section 508 Law, and is available today as Continuing Education for any health professional or the general public by visiting the department’s website.
